Ouwen is a tech entrepreneur with seasoned experience in software engineering, image processing, and machine learning. Formerly, he was CTO of a YCombinator backed image analytics company which was acquired by Chem China (中国化工集团公司) for $5.5M. He is an M.D., Ph.D. candidate and Associate Instructor at Duke.
His research has been published in high impact journals such as IEEE Transactions in Medical Imaging. He has been an invited speaker for international conferences such as 5th Qianjiang International Radiology Conference held in Hangzhou, China on the “Future of AI in Radiology,” was an invited speaker to Google Cloud’s Next conference and has presented works at the International Ultrasonics Symposium conference.
In his spare time, he is a contributor to open-source software such as TensorFlow, a deep learning library used by thousands of researchers. Inspired to modernize health IT, Ouwen hopes to bridge the gap between cutting edge imaging research and clinical practice.
