Solutions Architect

Jamie is a Solutions Architect specializing in mobile application development, full stack development and rapid creative prototyping. Joining DIHI in 2015, Jamie has taken the lead in growing mobile app development for Duke Health. Jamie was a key player in apps such as Autism & Beyond, Cancer Distress Coach and DIHI’s Rapid App Prototyping Center. Jamie has also been building apps for the DIHI Data Pipeline such as Cohort Builder.
Before joining DIHI, Jamie was in the US Army. After leaving the military Jamie worked for Duke in 2000 as a contractor and then joined Duke full time at the Duke Clinical Research Institute where he worked with a team of developers to create apps that supported numerous clinical trials and patient registries. Jamie spearheaded the creation of the mobile app development group developing patient-facing apps for iPhone and iPad.
Jamie has a passion for Mobile Development and strategic problem solving. When Jamie isn’t teaching you’ll find him either playing saxophone or binge-watching tech tutorials and eating a poke bowl. After swearing off caffeine years ago, Jamie claims he has developed super powers, though it has been unverified as yet.
