Duke The pioneering of clinical and data science research is integral to DIHI’s transformative solutions at Duke. We see expertise-driven data quality assessment and data transformation as an opportunity and also as a responsibility to support high quality patient care at Duke. In order to earn the pilot implementation of a real-time outcome prediction model for clinical decision support, for instance, evidence is needed to justify the real-time outcome as a manifestation of a ground truth. Once a justifiable outcome is predicted, evaluation is needed to determine what other data is required beyond a model output to make that prediction actionable. As the solution is integrated into clinical workflows, data is needed to monitor for safety and measure the impact of that solution on patient care.

DIHI aims to lead in the discovery and dissemination of these insights to propel innovation forward at Duke and in the healthcare industry. See links below to learn more about DIHI’s research and evidence generation.
