DIHI Scholar

Bert Cortina is a DIHI scholar in his final year of his MD-PhD at the University of Virginia. Currently, Bert is working on a project predicting post-cardiothoracic surgical patients that may decompensate in stepdown units to increase the time resources can be gathered and avoid adverse outcomes. His clinical interest is in anesthesiology, and he will begin residency at Duke. Outside of research, Bert enjoys mountain biking and running on the local trails. Bert loves his Saturday morning coffee from Joe Van Gogh.
