Duke Institute for Health Innovation Announces 2022 Innovation Awards

Duke Health leaders have selected five high-potential innovation projects to be implemented as part of the Duke Institute for Health Innovation (DIHI)’s annual call for project ideas in the areas of novel strategies to improve value of care delivery, advance health equity, grow digital solutions for care and monitoring, strengthen care team experience and well-being and enhance patient engagement and experience. In addition to providing funding for these projects, the DIHI team will work with various Duke Health and Duke University partners to provide access to data, analytics, statistical analysis, machine learning and AI resources, while driving project and implementation management.

“This year, we had an impressive slate of innovation projects,” said Craig Albanese, MD, MBA, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Duke University Health System (DUHS) and Executive Director for DIHI. “While the high quality of finalists made it challenging to short-list a few that would move forward to implementation and scaling, we are confident that the selected projects will greatly improve care of our patients, while also re-imagining our approach to health equity and improvement of community health,” he added.
